That was the wish of our 3rd grade High School students. Nothing can be more rewarding for a teacher than to get a request and then support your students with it. Thanks to our campaign last year, as well as some wonderful and important donations, we were able to buy 10 brand new Dell laptops. We wanted new laptops to help our students gain the skills required in the 4th Industrial Revolution, to connect them with the “Internet of Things.” The world continues to develop and our students have a hunger for the skills needed to thrive within it.
17 students between the ages of 17 and 20 years old learned that web design is a process of aesthetically representing ideas in front of end-users through the internet, a different way of presenting their ideas in front of others. They gained invaluable knowledge about the multiple elements involved in the design of a website, such as layout, structure, colour, graphics, content, font, and text styles. In addition, they learned how to include social media and videos in the website, as well as about the importance of SEO. Aside from the technical aspects, the knowledge about the world of websites and everything involved with it, the crucial thing is that the students grew in confidence throughout the course. They developed some vital new skills and had a lot of fun while doing so. The main focus of the websites they created was related to their projects in the Entrepreneurship course. Some really cool websites are coming to life soon!
